PORCINE DISEASES

Abstract
Odintsovo 02/14 isolate of African swine fever virus was tested for its propagation properties in primary cell cultures with adding different sera to the nutrient medium. The test results showed that the virus propagation was the most successful in porcine bone marrow and porcine kidney cells when fetal bovine serum and FS FetalClone II, multipurpose serum substitute were added.

AVIAN DISEASES

Abstract
The paper demonstrates data on experimental cultivation of avian reovirus tenosynovitis agent in different cell cultures. It was indicated that strain ARV04/02 was capable of reproduction in all tested cell cultures (CEF, Vero-V, PSKG-30, Taurus-4, MARC-145) at the first passage already. The highest level of the virus accumulation was observed in CEF culture at the infection dose of 0.1 TCID50/cell and during 72-96 hours of cultivation.

Abstract
After experimental inoculation of broiler chickens with subtype A avian metapneumovirus isolate, mild clinical signs were observed on days 6-14 after inoculation. The infected chickens demonstrated slight increase of T-helpers activity in blood, poor specific antibody response, development of specific secretory antibodies. Subtype B avian metapneumovirus isolate caused a somewhat more obvious specific clinical signs in chickens compared with subtype A on days 5-15 after inoculation, however, in both experiments, clinical signs completely disappeared in 14-15 days after infection. The increase of relative number of cytotoxic T lymphocytes in blood and in spleen, specific antibody response in 50-70% of chickens and activation of local immune response in 50% of chickens were observed in inoculated chickens.

Abstract
In September, 2014 outbreaks of highly acute infection resulting in high mortality were reported in poultry flocks in some settlements of the Altai Krai. Laboratory tests allowed isolation and identification of highly pathogenic A/H5N1 avian influenza virus. Molecular and biological properties of the virus were examined; typical clinical signs, post-mortem lesions and disease character in chicks were described.

CATTLE DISEASES

Abstract
The paper presents OIE data on FMD outbreaks and assesses economic losses in the Republic of Korea in 2000, 2002, 2010 with a special attention given to the analysis of the FMD current epidemic situation on the Korean Peninsula in 2014-2016. The paper demonstrates the importance of FMD prevention, eradication, control in the countries of the Korean Peninsula and the Pacific Region.

Abstract
Indirect ELISA-based test-system was developed for determination of Mannheimia haemolytica antibody titre in sera from cattle of different age-sex groups. Lipopolysaccha-ride antigen (LPS-antigen) produced by phenol-water extraction from Mannheimia haemolytica strain No. 29696 (ATCC collection) was used as an antigen. Results obtained during the comparative examination of bovine sera using the proposed test-system and commercial test-system «Mannheimia haemolytica ELISA KIT» (BIOX, Belgium) are demonstrated. Relative specificity and sensitivity of the designed method were determined.

Abstract
The paper presents data on lumpy skin disease spread in the Russian Federation, Middle East, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Greece, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, and Kosovo. It characterizes epidemic situation in the Republic of Dagestan in 2015. It also gives analysis of the OIE data on lumpy skin disease outbreaks in the Russian Federation in 2016. The paper summarizes experience in LSD outbreak eradication in a large dairy establishment in Tbilisi Rayon of the Krasnodar Krai.

Abstract
The paper presents results on the effect of different amount of blood serum of cattle in the production process of the suspension cultivation of cell line BHK-21/2-17 and FMD virus.

Abstract
The paper demonstrates results obtained during the study of humoral immunity in cattle after single immunization with inactivated emulsion FMD vaccines based on Montanide ISA 70 and ISA 206 adjuvants. The humoral immunity was assessed using virus neutralization test and ELISA. The vaccines were demonstrated to induce high level of antibodies maintained for 70 days post vaccination (observation period).

EPIZOOTOLOGY

Abstract
The paper describes natural historic aspects of emerging dangerous paromyxoviral infections associated with chiropteran reservoir species - Hedra, Nepah, Menangle viruses, their origin and spread.

Abstract
The epizootic situation in the CIS Member States for 2013-2015 was characterized on the basis of materials provided by heads of the veterinary services of the CIS Member States to the CIS Executive Committee, on the basis of the OIE data supplemented by information from the Rosselkhoznadzor Information Analysis Centre and taking into account reports from the meetings of the CIS Intergovernmental Council for Veterinary Cooperation for 2013-2016. Their territories remain infected with highly dangerous animal diseases such as rabies, African swine fever, sheep and goat pox, foot-and-mouth disease, anthrax, etc.
