The Veterinary Science Today scientific journal was established and registered with the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications in 2012. (Registration Certificate No. FS77-49033 of March 21, 2012).
The journal was assigned International Standard Serial Number ISSN 2304-196X (Print).
It is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of Russia for publishing the main scientific results of dissertations for the Candidate of Science and Doctor of Science degrees (Decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. R-154 of September 21, 2015).
Starting from the beginning of 2018 the papers of the Veterinary Science Today journal are assigned the DOI (Digital Object Identifier), the articles are entered into the Crossref database, all publications in the journal are translated into English.
In 2019 the Veterinary Science Today online version received ISSN 2658-6959, the journal was included in the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) catalog.
In 2020 the Veterinary Science Today scientific journal was included in the number of journals listed in the RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index) database on the Web of Science platform.
In 2020 the Veterinary Science Today journal was accepted into the international database on the EBSCOhost platform.
In December 2022 the working group on quality assessment and selection of journals to RSCI presented the academic rating of RSCI journals, which is calculated taking into account the recently updated list of journals included in the database and up-to-date bibliometric information from the largest international and domestic aggregators of scientific information.
In total, the current RSCI database includes 944 scientific journals; 931 journals are included in the presented rating (13 journals are not listed yet, because they have not provided full bibliographic information and/or have not completely downloaded their issues for the recent years in the electronic library at elibrary.ru).
The Veterinary Science Today reached the 203rd place among 994 journals in the consolidated rating of RSCI journals and was included in the first quartile.
